Operation of our bed hug heater is easy. It is just plug and play. Let the heater run for about six hours. The room will heat up the target temperature zone of 115-143ºF. All bed bugs will die at that temperature within minutes. Leave the heater running for a few hours to be sure you’ve covered all clutter and crevices. And now you’re bed bug free!

Before you set up the heater to run, we recommend that you prepare the afflicted area. Preparing the afflicted area will ensure the best result.

Clean the room

You want to clear as much clutter as possible, but the clutter may have bed bugs in it, so make sure you bag it up and treat it or dispose of it. vacuum and sweep off flooring.Make sure to not leave any animal hair in the room. Hair is harmful to the equipment and your indoor air quality once agitated by the heat system.

Pesticide

Do not use any pesticide bombs, floggers, sprays, dusts prior to heat treatment. Repellent insecticides severely weaken the success of the treatment effort by driving bed bugs into hard to treat areas such as under carpet pads and wall voids. If you have used them recently please call us.

Clothing bedding furniture

Bed bugs will often try to find shelter within or under loads of clothing. Loads of clothing should be either hung up on hooks or spread out before the heat treatment originates. Wash bedding and washable excess clutter on high heat followed with a high heat dry cycle. After drying, remove and instantly place them in a heavy-duty trash bag and seal the bag by twisting the excess bag and wrapping the twist with tape. Think “Loaf of Bread”. Open all drawers and unpack any overly packed areas.  Remember.: Air flow is the key!

Seal the Room

Try to seal the room from escaping heat in places like HVAC vents, lights, bathroom exhaust fans, bottoms of doors, and wall air conditioners. Cover window panes with blankets or equivalent to minimize loss of energy from cold windows. If you have a fire sprinkler system we recommend the heads be drained and capped before the heat process commences. Begin The Treatment

Once you have prepared the area to be treated and you have your heat treatment equipment, it’s time to set up the heater and let it run. There will be up one cord attached to each heater and fan, and up to 8 separate cords for the heating elements. PLEASE NOTE each circuit breaker in your home most possibly support only two cords before breaking the circuit. If a circuit breaks when turning on the heater, use the included collection of extension cords to plug into different circuits of your home. seal up the area and allow the heat to exterminate your pests. Within few hours the room will be done. If you have any other rooms to treat, move the heater If not Your bed bugs are gone!
